Nepal Medical College (NMC) is situated at Attarkhel of Jorpati Village Development Committee, in Kathmandu, about 11 km. northeast of Kathmandu city. It lies at the foot hill of a mound. It has a quiet and tranquil environment, required of a medical college and a teaching hospital. The Gokarna hillock with pine trees, about half a kilometer away on the north, the Gokarna Safari Park across Bagmati river about one kilometer in the east, the terraces with trees encircling the NMC campus on the west, the NMC campus which comprises the college and Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital (NMCTH), has access to the main road through its main entrance on the southwest.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission in Nepal Medical College
The following are the minimum eligibility criteria for admission in Nepal:
- The candidate should be above 17 years and below 25 years old as on or before 31st December of the admission year.
- He/she should have passed class 12th in Science, with PCB and English subjects from a board recognized by the authorities in India.
- The candidate should have secured at least 50% in 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the major subjects.
- SC/OBC/ST candidates must have at least 40% in 12th with the same subjects as that for the UR candidates.
- Candidates must qualify the entrance exam conducted by the medical universities in Nepal.
- Candidates must submit eligibility certificate issues by MCI.

ADMISSION PROCESS IN NEPAL
Indian students who aspire to pursue medical education in Nepal medical college must first appear for the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and achieve a minimum qualifying percentile as per the guidelines set by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The NEET-UG score card obtained by the students will be used to shortlist candidates for admission. The application process for medical admission to Nepal Medical College (NMC) involves filling out an online application form on the official website of the college. Candidates are required to provide all the necessary details and upload essential documents such as mark sheets, NEET scorecard, passport-sized photograph, and signature. The selection process for admission is based on the candidates’ NEET score and academic performance. Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling a short interview will be conducted by the college authorites, and the final decision on admission will be made considering the availability of seats.
Additionally, NEET-qualified students have the option to apply through a centralized entrance exam conducted by MECEE-UG (Medical Education Commission Entrance Examination) Examination, which is followed by a merit-based counseling process conducted by MECEE.
To pursue PG medical education in Nepal medical college, Indian students are required to appear for the MECEE-PG (Medical Education Commission Entrance Examination) Examination and Qualify the exam followed by merit based counseling conducted by MECEE. In certain cases, if there are vacant seats after the MECEE-PG counseling process, colleges in Nepal may consider admitting students who have not appeared for the MECEE entrance exam. However, to be eligible for this opportunity, students must have successfully qualified the entrance test of their respective countries and have filled out the MECEE application form. This provision allows qualified students who may have missed the MECEE exam to still have a chance at securing admission to medical colleges in Nepal.
