JIPMER PG 2020 is a National-level entrance examination which is conducted twice in December and May for the respective sessions. JIPMER, Puducherry offers specialisation in twenty-four different fields under Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) programmes respectively. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry is the conducting body for JIPMER PG 2020 July session. The application form for JIPMER PG 2020 has been released online by the authority on February 28, 2020. 

The entrance examination of JIPMER PG 2020 is conducted biannually for admission to 200 MD/MS seats available in JIPMER, Puducherry. Out of the total 100 seats available in each session, 90 seats are available for all the Indian National candidates including OCI while, 5 seats are reserved for Indian candidates sponsored by the Government and 5 seats are reserved for Foreign National candidates. Candidates who possess an MBBS degree or an equivalent degree are eligible to appear for JIPMER PG 2020 exam.

JIPMER PG Eligibility Criteria 2020

Nationality

• MS course: Candidate must be an Indian National (IN) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Foreign Nationals (FN).
• MDS Course: Candidate must be an Indian National (IN) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)

Educational Qualification

• MD/MS Course: The applicants must possess MBBS or an equivalent Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India.
• MDS Course: The applicants must possess BDS or an equivalent Degree recognized by the Dental Council of India.

Internship

• MD/MS Course: The candidate must have completed required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/Practical training on or before 30th June 2020.
• MDS Course: The candidate must have completed required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/Practical training on or before 30th June 2020.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• For candidates belonging to General (UR) / OCI / EWSs / Foreign National/OBC categories 55% marks in aggregate.
• For candidates belonging to SC/ST Categories 50% marks in aggregate.
• For PWD candidates the minimum aggregate as provided above for the category to which the candidate belongs shall apply.

Application Status

Candidates who have already completed MD/MS/MDS in any subject in any Institution are not eligible for admission to MD/MS/MDS course at JIPMER. 

JIPMER PG Application Form 2020

• Candidates seeking admission to JIPMER PG 2020 examination are required to apply online mode only.
• Log on to the link in the official page www.jipmer.puducherry.gov.in / www.jipmer.edu.in. And click on the link “Apply online MD/MS/MDS Admission 2020”.
• The registration window to fill the JIPMER PG 2020 application form for July session will be open till April 1, 2020.
• The fee for JIPMER PG 2020 application form is INR 1,600/- for General/OBC candidates and INR 1,200/- for SC/ST category candidates and for NRI/OCI candidates is INR 3,000/-.
• Apart from the application fee, all the candidates will have to pay transaction charges as applicable. Candidates falling under the PwD category are exempted from JIPMER PG 2020 application fees.

JIPMER PG Admit Card 2020

• The Admit Card of JIPMER PG 2020 for July session will be issued on April 29, 2020 till May 18, 2020 in online mode only.
• JIPMER PG 2020 Admit Card is a mandatory document to be carried to the JIPMER PG 2020 examination.
• The Admit Card is also mandatory for the JIPMER PG 2020 Counselling process.
• The Admit Card of JIPMER PG 2020 will provide the details like candidates’ roll number, allotted exam city and centre.
• If in case, there is any discrepancy then the candidates are required to contact the concerned authorities.

JIPMER PG 2020 Result

• The result of JIPMER PG 2020 for July session will be released on May 31, 2020.
• JIPMER PG 2020 Result will be released in the form of a merit list and individual scorecard.
• JIPMER, Puducherry will also publish a list specifying the number of candidates who have qualified the exam by securing the minimum required percentile.
• The mode of release of JIPMER PG 2020 Result will be only online.
• Candidates are required to download the scorecard from the official link as and when JIPMER PG 2020 Result for July session is made available.

JIPMER PG Rank Letters 2020

The conducting authority will issue the JIPMER PG 2020 Rank letters for the candidates who have qualified the exam. JIPMER PG 2020 Rank letters will contain the name of the aspirant, AIR, marks and percentile secured in the JIPMER PG 2020 Exam for the July session.

JIPMER PG Merit List 2020 

The merit list of JIPMER PG 2020 will be issued along with the JIPMER PG 2020 Result. The merit list is expected to be released on or before May 31, 2020. The conducting body will release total of nine merit lists – an overall merit list and eight category-wise merit lists. JIPMER PG 2020 merit list will include all the candidates irrespective of their category. The merit list of JIPMER PG 2020 for July session will display roll no, name of the candidate, date of birth, correct responses, incorrect responses, total marks, percentile, rank (overall and category-wise) and qualifying status.

JIPMER PG Counselling 2020 

JIPMER, Puducherry has released the tentative dates for JIPMER PG 2020 Counselling. The first round counselling will be held on June 12, 2020. Candidates will be called for the counselling process as per their All India Rank. The mode of counselling process will be offline. Candidates will be required to report to the allotted venue in order to attend JIPMER PG 2020 Counselling process. There will be three rounds of JIPMER PG 2020 Counselling and a final round is subject to the vacancy of seats.

JIPMER PG Admission 2020

Admission to all candidates is based on merit, category of the candidates, and the availability of seats at the time of JIPMER Counseling 2020. All the candidates should report on due date mentioned in their admission letter, failing which, they will forfeit the admission. At any time, if the competent authorities finds that admission has been offered based on false information/ documents, the admission offered or the admission already completed shall be cancelled.
