NEET UG 2019 Cutoff : Expected Cutoff, Cutoff Trends

The NTA administered NEET-UG 2019 has been successfully conducted on May 5, 2019 where the candidates had to answer a total of 180 questions. The offline question booklet of NTA NEET 2019 had multiple-choice questions from three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Biology. While each correct answer would fetch four marks, one mark would be deducted for every wrong answer, as per the NTA marking scheme of NEET 2019 paper. According to the experts of Allen Kota, the overall NEET 2019 paper can be termed as a moderate to easy paper. Breaking the previous past years’ trend, Physics surprised the test takers on easy terms, Chemistry as expected turned out to be another easy paper along with Biology. However, the Biology paper of NEET 2019 was somewhat lengthy and therefore the overall paper had been scaled between moderate to easy level.

There has been a tremendous increase in the number of candidates those who register and qualify NEET every year. This year NEET 2019 has seen around 1519000 registrations for NEET and every year the competition seems to increase. In keeping with the NEET 2018 statistics, out of 13,26,725 candidates who appeared for the exam, only 7,14,562 could qualify the exam by scoring marks equal to or more than the NEET Cutoff qualifying percentile requirements.

Exam duration and the pattern of the exam did not pose any differences as compared to previous years except for the fact that in Biology the questions were shuffled across Botany and Zoology. Exam was below expected levels of difficulty with respect to Physics. One could say that Chemistry was also considered easy as most questions were direct and not demanding complex understanding or calculations.Biology takes the center stage with questions off-NCERT questions, slightly confusing match the following type questions and lengthy to read theory questions. As subject experts unanimously agree that NEET-UG was relatively easier this year, the expected cutoff has been predicted to go high. The experts feel that the paper was easier than last year, therefore the cutoff is likely to increase and is expected to be around 530 to 570 for unreserved catogery under AIQ .
