Punjab MBBS/BDS Counselling 2020

The registrations for the Punjab MBBS/BDS admission process has already started and the last date to register for the counselling is in November, 2020. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), the regulatory body for Punjab MBBS Counselling 2020 will conduct the Punjab MBBS Round 1 Counselling 2020 through online mode, while the second round and additional mop-up round would be held in offline modes. Aspirants who will be included in the state merit list will be eligible for online Punjab MBBS/BDS Counselling 2020. Only the candidates who will fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the state will be called for admission to the available MBBS/BDS seats under the 85% state quota seats in government, government-aided as well as private colleges of the state. 

While the remaining 15% seats from all the government medical and dental colleges will be reserved for the All India Quota (AIQ) candidates and will be filled on the basis of NEET scores obtained by the candidates. The result of Punjab MBBS Counselling 2020 will be released for each round of seat allotment. Candidates those who have been allotted seats must report at the designated colleges along with their relevant documents for verification and completion of the admission process.

Punjab MBBS/BDS Admission 2020 Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to 15% All India Quota seats

MCC conducts online counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS colleges based on the NEET scores.

 Open for all the candidates qualifying NEET UG 2020.

85% state quota seats

BFUHS will organize a centralized counselling based on the state merit rank derived from NEET scores.

 Candidates fulfilling the domicile criteria of the particular state are only considered eligible.

Admission to private colleges

Admission will be done based on the state merit rank by BFUHS through counselling.

The candidate must fulfil either of the conditions mentioned in the bona fide resident rules. Those who have studied for five or more years in Punjab or two years before the qualifying examination are eligible to apply. Wards of Punjab government employees posted in/outside Punjab or working on a deputation; employee of government of India posted in Chandigarh or Punjab; wards of the persons who have settled in Punjab or had resided in Punjab for a period of at least five years are considered eligible.

Admission to central/deemed universities

Centralized counselling will be conducted by the MCC for admission to MBBS/BDS colleges based on NEET marks.

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences will release the merit list of candidates separately for different categories on November, 2020, including candidates of NRI category. The merit list of Punjab MBBS Counselling 2020 will include details like the candidate’s name, registration number, category code, rank, and percentile. Admission officials will announce the Punjab MBBS 2020 seat allotment result for online round 1 counselling on November, 2020. Candidates those who have been allotted with seats must report at the designated colleges along with their relevant documents for verification and completion of the admission process. Seat allotment for Round II counselling will be announced separately. If the seats remain vacant even after the second round of counselling an additional mop-up round will be conducted by the authority.
